Antelope is a name with reference to several even-toed ungulate species observed throughout the world in locations such as Africa, Asia, and North America. The word describes a ‘miscellaneous’ group inside the family covering the old-world species which aren't cattle, sheep, buffalo, bison, or goats. In certain countries these are known as "Gemma". Several grouped antelopes are identified as a herd.
