Butterfly



A butterfly is a primarily day-flying bug belonging to the Lepidoptera order, butterflies and moths. Similar to other holometabolous insects, the butterfly's life is made of 4 pieces: egg, larva, pupa and adult. The majority of types are diurnal. Butterflies have got large, often vibrantly tinted wings, and noticeable, fluttering flight. Butterflies comprise of the real butterflies (superfamily Papilionoidea), the skippers (superfamily Hesperioidea) and the moth-butterflies (superfamily Hedyloidea). All the numerous other kinds of families from the Lepidoptera order are known as moths.
